FEATURES AT HAGERSTOWN Seventeen Outstanding Attractions Listed for Maryland Meeting -Opening Day June 1. HAGERSTOWN, Md., May 22 Seventeen feature races will be offered during the Hagerstown Fair Associations spring meeting, which opens here June 1. The book for the meeting as arranged by secretary Edward J. Brennan of Baltimore, calls for races at five furlongs to a mile and a furlong, and the 350 horses that can he housed here will have ample opportunity to earn their way. The managements of the Alexander, Colonial and Hamilton hotels, as well as the Herald-Mail, one of this citys newspapers, have donated silver cups, which will be awarded the owners of the horses winning the races named after the donors. The list of features to be run here follows: June 1 Harry E. Bester Memorial, five-eighths, three-year-olds; Washington County Inaugural, six and a half furlongs, three-year-olds and over; June Day Purse, mile and a sixteenth, three-year-olds and over; Herald-Mail Purse, mile and a sixteenth, and the Potomac, mile and a sixteenth, three-year-olds and over. June 2 The Antietam, mile and a sixteenth; Mt. Vernon, five-eighths; Middle-town Valley, six and a half furlongs, all for three-year-olds and over. June 3 Hotel Hamilton Purse, six. and a half furlongs; Williamsport, mile and a sixteenth, and Hagerstown Handicap, mile and a. sixteenth, all for three-year-olds and over. June 4 Colonial Hotel Purse, six and a half furlongs; Braddock Heights, six and a half furlongs, and Hancock, mile and a sixteenth, all for three-year-olds and over. June 5 Hotel Alexander Purse, mile and a sixteenth; Cumberland Purse, six and a half furlongs, and Frederick Purse, five-eighths, all for three-year-olds and over. Scores of stables that raced this spring at Havre de Grace and Pimlico and which are now at Bowie will ship here.
