1 CONEY ISLAND TURF NOTES s : $ Tom B. Young shipped the good filly Penn-cote to Howard Wells at Hawthorne. The daughter of Pennant is eligible for the Hawthorne Juvenile Stakes. Young is sending the others of his stable to Dade Park the first of next week. Joe Chinn arrived from Arlington Park with I Pass, Noelwood, Dodiodo, Quidam, Genial Joe and Chief Geronimo. C. A. Bidencope brought three from that track-and J. A. Best unloaded Reveille Boy, Morton Barton and James Boy, which he campaigned at that track. Jockey K. Hoffman was suspended for five days by the stewards for crossing his field too sharply after the start in the eighth race Monday. Captain E. J. Weiss and staff of three Pinkerton men arrived from Rockingham Park and will assist the crew in policing the grounds. Jack Carter purchased the two-year-old Fergus from S. S. Combs and the son of Axenstein ran under the colors of his new owner in the first race Tuesday.
