FiveLength Lead LeadLOUISVILLE LOUISVILLE Ky April 30 Royal Mar ¬ tha a fast twoyearold daughter of Ariel and Martha Washington owned by I J Collins chairman of the Ohio Racing Com ¬ mission ran away with the 2500 added Debutante Stakes before another large crowd at Churchill Downs this afternoon This speedy miss carrying George King to his second saddle success of the day stepped the five furlongs on a fast track in 59 and winning by five lengths earned 2535 more than double her cost Collins paid 1050 for her at the Saratoga yearling sales salesValdina Valdina Farms Valdina Melia was second Milky Way Farms My Choice was third and E K Thomas Fair Flyer fourth as three other juvenile fillies rounded out the field fieldRoyal Royal Minuet matched step for step with the Collins filly the first threesixteenths of a mile but then the pace became too hot for the former and Royal Martha assumed a big lead which she maintained to the end After reaching the home stretch Royal Minuet gave way completely and Valdina Melia moved into second place where she remained to the end endMY MY CHOICE THIRD THIRDMy My Choice showed more promise in finish ¬ ing third than the result might another son of Bull Dog rallied when called upon in the stretch and under the handling of Hugh Lemmons was up near the end to win by a neck Smart Bid which made all the pace and which at one time was three lengths in front could not hold the winner but was good enough to take the place well in advance of Our Jane Epizar raced with the leaders here for about a halfmile and then tired and dropped
