COOLING SPRING WINNER OF FEATURE AT CICERO TRACK TRACKTurns Turns Back Buckings Final Bid to Account for Spring Handicap HandicapCICERO CICERO 111 April 30 B M Smiths Cool ¬ ing Spring hung on gamely before the charge of Mrs Oros Bucking and Paul Kelleys Prince Derek to account for the Spring Handicap the mile and seventy yards event which was the best number on the card at Sportsmans Park today The fiveyearold son of Milkman and Afloat led all the way but Don Scurlock had to go to a drive through the stretch to insure his score and enable him to cross the finish line three quarters of a length in advance of the late bid made by Bucking The Smith represen ¬ tative turned the distance in 149 and paid 700 to those who supported him as he scored his second victory of the year in eleven starts startsBucking Bucking who provided the early conten ¬ tion and then gave way temporarily to Prince Derek responded courageously to punishment when the Gallant Fox gelding flattened out in the final drive and came on again to account for the place a length in advance of that representative from the Kelley barn Backed down to favoritism Prince Derelc was rated along in hand most of the way but when called upon for his best in the drive had nothing left to make a bid with and finished third Three lengths farther back Paul L Kelleys Cherry Trifle who ran coupled with Prince Derek was
