HEART ATTACK IS FATAL TO J A ART CULLEN OF OMAHA OMAHAHorsemen Horsemen Saddened by Passing of Nebraska Commission Secretary SecretaryOMAHA OMAHA Neb May 13 Racing lost one of its best friends and Nebraska horsemen in particular were saddened by news of the sudden death last Thursday of J A Art Cullen secretary of the Nebraska State Rac ¬ ing CommissionJat an Omaha hospital Death was attributed to a heart attack attackFuneral Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning at St Cecilias cathedral in Omaha with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery At ¬ tending were the AkSarBen board of gov ¬ ernors AkSarBen counsellors a committee from the Nebraska unicameral legislature and many others prominent in the life of the city of Omaha and state of Nebraska NebraskaCullens Cullens efforts were largely responsible for the clean manner in which racing has been conducted in Nebraska He was un ¬ flagging in his efforts to eliminate question ¬ able methods from the sport that he loved and with which he had been connected for many years yearsMany Many Nebraska horsemen and youthful riders were given a helping hand by Cullen who was generous to a fault not only with his time and counsel but also with his funds fundsThe The Nebraska State Racing Commission will meet this week to discuss appointment of a temporary secretary to take over Cul lens affairs for the present chairman J B Rossiter said
