Kentucky Handicap Final Feature at Louisville LouisvilleAonbarr Aonbarr and Shot PutyJFormer Winners of Race Eligible Again AgainLOUISVILLE LOUISVILLE Ky May 8 Interest in next weeks racing at Churchill Downs will center on the twentyfifth running of the Kentucky Handicap whose renewal next Saturday will feature the final program of the local spring season The Kentucky Handicap is a 2500 run of a mile and an eighth for threeyearolds and upwards and with 41 nominations it should attract a representative field fieldProminent Prominent among the eligibles are two former winners of the stake Miss Helen Hickmans Aonbarr and Mrs Marie Evans Shot Put Aonbarr who has not yet been to the post this year captured the race last spring while Shot Put who finished third to Anticlimax and Corydon in the Clark Handicap here on opening day won it in 1940 Though Aonbarr has not been seen under colors so far this spring he has been training commendably and might possibly be ready for next Sat ¬ urdays engagement Shot Put is almost certain to start startTwo Two other wellknown handicap per ¬ formers in the Kentucky Handicap are Galbreath Diensts Best Seller and A C Ernsts Aletern both of whom have local victories to their credit this spring Aletern acounted for Keenelands Ben Ali Handi ¬ cap in which he beat such horses as Val dina Orphan and Corydon and Best Seller captured the Churchill Downs Handicap from a field that included Wishbone and Three Clovers CloversAlthough Although he was soundly beaten in the Clark Handicap after his earlier victory Aletern looms the favorite for Saturdays final feature featureSome Some of the other eligibles who may be found in the starting field next weekend are Mrs Emil Denemarks Three Clovers the Tall Trees Stable Ball Player Max Marmorsteins The FinestfTThomas Piatts Faywood and the Dearborn Stables Dun ¬ geon
