Sportsmans Charity Meeting Nets 828 005 005STICKNEY STICKNEY HI May 2Q Chicago Tribune Charities Inc yesterday received a check for 8287005 which represented the profits of a week Of racing conducted at Sportsmans Park before the opening of the regular spring meeting of the National Jockey Club This sum will be donated to various Chicago organizations the principal beneficiaries being the United Catholic and Jewish charities wliich are to receive 40000 among them themNone None of the executives of the National Jockey Club received compensation for his services during Charity Week it was said and no money was deducted from the revenue taken in during the six days except for the actual operating expense and 15000 for state license fees feesLast Last fall a similar week of racing at Sportsmans Park after the close of the regular Illinois racing season realized approximately 134000 for the same charities The check covering the latest donation was presented to the Tribune Charities yesterday by John L Kceshin president of the National Jockey Club I t k f n f f i 1
