Johns Dear was first to go in puisuit of Boojiana as the Top Flight field left the gate with Good Morning close behind and a half length before Whirlabout Star Copy was close up as they were running down the backstretch and was among the first group Silvestra headed the second group after a gap of four lengths with Stefan ita MarKell Moon Maiden and Anthe mion trailing in that order orderRounding Rounding the far turn Boojiana was three lengths in the clear and running freely under Ted Atkinson while Star Copy was level with Good Morning and Whirl ¬ about was still fourth Stefanita was a close fifth before MarKell Midway of the long curve for home Star Copy called it a day and as the latter dropped back she appeared to bother Silvestra who was making a strong run and had to pull up dropping stretch to win the Jerico Handicap 4500 secondary feature at seven furlongs His Guam won the fifth race H L Straus New Moon held on courageously to be second a length and a quarter back after getting the lead at the stretch turn while Jack S L who had been forcing Ariel Lads pace took third honors two lengths before that gelding and the same margin back of New Moon Kings Abbey was timed a nimble 123 and paid 480 His race today intimates that he may be a serious threat in handicaps at a mile or slightly more for he was full of run when jockey Ferril Zufelt set him down to run at the eighth pole
