Fair Grounds Corporation Sued by Barred Trainer TrainerSeeks Seeks 500000 Damages in Suit On Charge of Gross Negligence NegligenceNEW NEW ORLEANS La May 20 A former race horse trainer who was barred for life by the Louisiana Racing Commission be ¬ cause he ran a ringer today asked 500000 damages of the Fair Grounds Cor ¬ poration in a suit filed in Civil District Court CourtThe The suit filed by Roland B Banner al leged that the corporation exhibited gross negligence which resulted in Flying Kilts being run under the name Willow Run RunIn In turn Sanner declared the action caused the racing commission to revoke his trainers license and bar him from training running or operating on a race track within its jurisprudence jurisprudenceIn In December 1945 the suit stated San ¬ ner arranged with C B Inscoe of Wash ¬ ington to bring three of his horses here for the Fair Grounds fall meeting Until January 22 the horses were stabled at Magnolia Farm near here hereOn On January 29 one of the horses was entered and won a Fair Grounds race under the name of Willow Run Subse ¬ quently it was purchased for 1250 by H C Wolfe according to the suit suitWolfe Wolfe entered the horse under the name of Willow Run February 4 but when the horse was brought to the paddock for sad ¬ dling a question arose as to his identity The horse was scratched Sanner alleged in his suit suitThen Then Sanner stated he telephoned In ¬ scoe in Washington and asked which horse had been sent here hereA A terrible mistake had been made Sanner said Inscoe told him The horse sent to New Orleans was Flying Kilts in ¬ stead of Willow Run RunSanner Sanner was found guilty by the racing commission of running a ringer and lost his license
