Delaware Park to Opeir Stable Area on Monday MondayOver Over 3500 Stall Applications Made for Meet Opening May 29 29DELAWARE DELAWARE PARK Stanton Del May 8 Delaware Park which for months has presented a scene of rustic tranquility and serene calm in the picturesque rolling green countryside will undergo a big transforma ¬ tion on Monday That is the day when the track will admit the horsemen and horses to the stable area to prepare for the May 29 opening of the 33day meeting meetingRacing Racing secretary J Gilbert Haus reports that he has turned over to Delaware Parks stall committee applications for more than 3500 horses which is as usual far in excess of the number which can be accommodated The Stanton track has 1408 stalls plus 94 bunkhouses which can comfortably accom ¬ modate 376 or more stable workers The opening of the gates to the horsemen and their charges will mark the beginning of operations at one of the two r track kitchens the kitchen near the stable gate run by Lawrence Boido Another will open a couple of days before the meeting in charge of James Rimbos at the lower end of the stable area near the fiveeighths mile training track trackThe The tracks recreation department in charge of John J OBrien and Francis Jock LaBelle which provides movies boxing Softball and other sports for track personnel also is slated to open Track superintendent Clarke M Pardee and his maintenance crew have been occupied since early spring working on the spacious plant plantThis This will be Delaware Parks richest meeting and the total added money for the 14 stakes 10 on the flat and four steeple ¬ chases will be 240000 having been boosted again The overall stakes and purses will exceed last years 1053880
