NEW ENGLAND ENGLANDBy By ELI CHIAT Continued from Page Seven Sevenevents events and have been designated as sprint ¬ ers Another innovation this year at the seaside course is the scheduling of races for New Englandbreds At the moment Hunt is planning to card one race a week for this group of racers in the hopes of encourag ¬ ing the New England breeding industry Outside of the Futurity run at Rocking ham Park there has been no real effort made in the past to set up an attractive racing program for local breeders Hunt plans to list events for racers of all ages over various distances and if the response is heartening from the horsemen it will become a regular part of the Downs racing program programChitChat ChitChat Wednesday will be Armed Forces Day here with the track sharing in the celebration of Armed Forces Week by staging its entire ninerace card in honor of the occasion The days events will bear names honoring the different services of the armed forces Trainer Jim Pud Keefe and owner Jim Carr have come to the parting of the ways after an associa ¬ tion of several years Carrs horses will now be trained by Charley Heverly The latter has a public stable on the grounds and he is the conditioner of the local handicap star Double Bid John Kel Houssels prominent breeder and rancher from Las Vegas Nev who has a large string of racers here under the care of Jess Byrd stopped by to inspect his stable Houssels arrived here after witnessing the Derby Edward T Dooley one of the youngest racing secretaries in the country who serves here as a placing judge and is assistant secretary at Narragansett Park distributed stall applications for the Gansett meeting which begins on June 30th Sam Sacco sent three racers to Garden State for campaigning at that point They are Sea Chanty My Cannella and HiSheila Hugo Mapoli augmented his string here with the arrival of the threeyearold filly Miss Management from Jamaica
