GOSSIP OF THE TURF. Clarence H. Mackays good performer Mexican, by Mirthful Llandrinio, is receiving a special preparation far the 5,0C0 Produce Stakes to be run at Brighton Beach tomorrow. The colt was given a trial over the Produce Stakes distance, six furlongs, in 1 :16, Tuesday, which was pretty clever work for the event. In the race Mexican will probably meet August Belmonts Mizzen, J. B. and F. P. Keenes Injunction and Duster, Alfred Feather-stones Mesmer, Senator McCarrens Gold Money and other speedy youngsters. Mexican is now in the hands of Charles Hill, his trainer, and on his previous runnings in the stake events of the season must be conceded as having an excellent chance to capture the rich stake for his owners.
