Fair Lass caught the leaders tiring in the last furlong, finished fast and was going away at the end. Safeguard ran well, but was tiring fast at the end and swerved across the track in the last sixteenth, but came again when straightened out. Doc Wood showed the most early speed, but tired in the stretch drive. In Bond quit after going a good half. Kiwasa began slowly and closed a big gap. Paramount ran a poor race. Kings Sister made up ground in the stretch. Fair Lass, show, 2 to 1. Safeguard, show, 3 to 5. Doc Wood, show, 4 to 1. Paramount, show, 2 to 5. Won driving; second easily. Optional began slowly and was crowded back at the start and had to go around the leaders on the inside in lumpy going. He came fast through the stretch and outgamed Bummer when it came to the final drive. The latter saved ground at the turn into the homestretch and ran a good,ionest race. Mollie T. was used up in setting the pace and tired inlthe stretch. Dr. Scharff ran his race. Star and Garter was eased up when beaten. Sue Johnson showed the most speed throughout and made a runaway race of it, but was unnecessarily hustled along at the end to stall off an ineffectual challenge from Aurie B. The latter was hard ridden all the way. Gannon allowed Bean to drop out of it on the backstretch. but she was closing up at the end under punishment and outgamed Ermack when it came to a drive. The latter and Willard J. ran fairly well. Florham showed early speed, but quit badly and can do better. Scratched S6601 Goldaga, 1C0; 37017 Judge Cantrill, 82. Tioga finished stoutly under a hard drive, caught Latuka tiring at the end and outgamed her when it came to a finish. Latnka-showed a good turn of speed, but swerved across the track in the last sixteenth and carried Breaker into the lumpy going. The latter was a contender throughout and finished well. Fuller rode a waiting race on Floyd K. and moving up while rounding the far turn caught Mosketo at the furlong post and outgamed him in the final drive. The latter showed much early speed and raced King Barleycorn to subjection in the first half and easily held second placo at the end. Pat began slowly and was crowded back while rounding the first turn, but made up ground and finished fast. Jerry Hnnt ran fairly well, but was never dangerous. King Barleycorn showed early speed. Benson Caldwell was on the extreme outside all the way and Winkfield put up a weak finish. Caelana showed much speed, but was used up chasing Ahumada and tired in tho stretch run.
