Charles C. suffered from a very weak ride, but was wearing the winner down at every stride at the end and should have won. Macbeth ran a fairly good race and tired. Kentucky Muddle ran an extra good race under a weak ride and will about do soon. Certain ran poorly. Be True, show, 3 to 5. Charles C, show, evens. Lila Noel showed the most speed throughout, was much the best and won as her rider pleased. Sextette ran her race under a good ride. Hoedown got away all tangled up and came fast in the stretch. Algareta was used up in chasing the pacemaker and tired visibly at the end. Grantor got off behind his field and was given an easy race. Axares can do better. "Won driving; second the same. , Josie F. got off well, avoided the crowding on the turns, received good handling and out-gamed Pirateer at the end. Prateer made his run too soon and tired at the finish. The Messenger was the best horse in the race, but he was in a pocket during the last sixteenth and Wolff rode the horse with poor judgment. There was nothing to the race but Nthe first three horses. Overweights — Leonid, 3 pounds; Eugenia S., 2; The Way, 3. Josie F., show, evens. Pirateer, show, evens. The Messenger, show, 2 to 5.
