May 11. — In the list of entries t« stakes given out by the Ontario Jockey Club there is excclleut material for a meeting fully eqtuil in the character of sport to anv of its brilliant predecessors. The Toronto Cup. of ,000 added, is the premier open event for three-year-olds and upward. and contains a long list of mimes which rank high on the American turf. S. C. Hildreth is the largest nominator and is responsible for an entry of five, including King James. Restigotic-he. Joe Madden. Fayette and Dalmatian. B. Schreilier has three, in Jack Atkin. Nealon and Sager: J. W. Schorr a similar number in Banivcs. Bob Co. and Fulfill: R. J. Mackenzie three also in Fountain Square. Don Antonio and Michael Angelo. Messrs. Clyde. Greener. Thomas. Mrs. L. A. Livingston and the Valley Farm Stable have each two strings, while among the single entries are Joseph II. Dnanes Planelnioro. John Dyments Chief Kec. F. Little-fields Jubilee. D. Lane McGib. -oils Busy. Mrs. James McLaughlins Fauutleroy. G. Mi-Sweenys Robert Cooper. Joseph E. Seagrams Bouquet. D. Stevensons The .Monk. Amos Tumeys Theo Cook and the Woodstock Stables Detective. The King Edward Gold Cup includes a iiuuiImt of the same horses iu its entry of twenty-six. The Prince of Wales Handicap, in its entry of forty-two, numbers some of the best sprinters in training. The Victoria Stakes, with fifty-two subscribers, con tains all the- best two-year-olds which will be seen under color- during the meeting. The two steeplechases have each the capital entry of twenty-six. and com prise tin- Ih-sI cross-country horses now training in America. All the Canadian races have Hied well. Especially is this the case with the Stanley Produce Stakes, to lie run in IMS. which has the highly satisfactory total of seventy-three.
