It has always attracted the crack fillies of the years as they came and numbers among its winners such fleet creatures as Cap ami Boll. Mamari. Hamburg Belle. Flip Flap. Court Dress. Field Mouse, ami Ocean Bound. Cap and Bells was good enough to In- sent over to Kngland and win the Kpsoin Oaks of 1!KH and Hamburg Belle was one of the Ix-.t mares of recent years. Of the Brooklyn Handicap it is sufficient to say from the time of its first running in 1SS7 it has shared with tlie Suburban the distinction of being one of the two foremost handicaps of American racing.
