BUTTE MEETING OPENS AUSPICIOUSLY. Butte. Mont.. July 23. — The thirtv-davs mooting of the Butte Jockey Club opened this afternoon under auspicious circumstances and the indications are that flic Meet tag will be the most successful in the history of the sport locally. There are cbwe to 4oO horses already at the track, including shoal loo which have recently come from Victoria and upward of 200 more are to come from Salt Lake Citv. With few exceptions all the better horses that raced at l.uena Vista will lie here. Practically all the followers of the sport have come here from Salt Lake City. Martin Nathanson. of Chicago, is presiding judge and racing secretary of the meeting.
