MUTUELS LEGALIZED IN COLORADO Bill Providing For State Racing Commission Be ¬ comes Law Without Governors Signature Denver Col May 10 Governor Ammons lias per ¬ mitted the bill providing for state control of racing under the supervision of a commission to become a law without his signature preferring neither to sign nor veto it In allowing the racing bill to become a law the Governor rstated that since the members of the Interstate Fair Association seemed to want the legislation he would acquiesce In their Whites At the same timer he announced a veto of the legislatureThe boxing bill passed by the legislature The racing bill was introduced In the lower branch of the Legislature by Representative Andrew and was sent to the Senate by a goodsized majority The Senate concurred after an acrimonious debate debateUnder Under the provisions of the bill a nonsalaried state racing commission is created having absolute supervision over all horse speed contests The parl uiutnel system of wagering is legalized The ap ¬ pointment of the commissioners probably will be announced within a short time and the first meet ¬ ing under the provisions of the bill is expected to take place during the coming summer at Overland Iark
