TO CURTAIL FALL RACING IN KENTUCKY Cincinnati O June 14 Matt J Wlnn represent ¬ ing Churchill Downs Messrs Wilson Baker and Chenault representing the Lexington track and Har ¬ vey Meyers Louis A Cella and John Ilachmelster representing Douglas Park and Latonia held a con ¬ ference at the Latonia clubhouse before the racing today and reached an amicable understanding in the matter of fall dates It was decided to curtail the season next fall and there will be only fortyeight days of racing at the four tracks The exact date for starting and the number of days each association is to race were not disclosed by any of the track representatives as they did not want to anticipate the action of the Kentucky State Racing Commis ¬ sion It is generally believed though that Lex ¬ ington will start the season on September 11 and race nine days that Churchill Downs and Doug ¬ las Park will divide twentyone racing days and that Latonia will use eighteen days The dates were immediately submitted to members of the racing commission who held an informal meeting in the stewards stand just before the running of the Derby They did not announce the granting of the dates as it was their desire that J N Cauiden who was absent should concur It is not thought that Mr Camden will oppose the dates asked for by the various associations and they probably will be form ¬ ally ratified next week The only other matter discussed by the members of the commission accord ¬ ing to Secretary Johnston was In regard to a design for the gold cup that the commission Wil contribute to the Kentucky Endurance Stakes Messrs Young and Camden were appointed a committee to pass upon the design
