UNITED HUNTS ASSOCIATION TO BUILD Jockey Club Gives a Hearing to Jockeys Loftus and Other Kiders Under Suspension NEW YORK N Y April 3 The United Hunts Association has decided to erect a temporary grand ¬ stand for its coming twoday meeting at Beimont Park Terminal on June 14 and 21 To facilitate matters the Piping Rock Association has extended the use of its movable boxes for the two days which will be placed in the front row of a line of bleachers which will be installed where tlie old grandstand used to be that was burned down three years ago agoJames James Rowan tlie old time rider of steeplechasers and tlie father of tlie present jockeys Thomas and Maurice Rowan died at his home iu llem stead yes ¬ terday Thirty years ago the late Mr Rowan rode in many of the prominent steeplechases and won several Most of his engagements were on horses belonging to James Kernochaii KernochaiiTlie Tlie National Steeplechase and Hunt Association held a meeting today No business of Importance was transacted routine affairs only bein dis ¬ cussed cussedThere There was a meeting of the license committee of the Jockey Club held today in tlie offices of the Jockey Club at which all jockeys whose licenses have been held up appeared before tlie officials to plead their cause The statements were recorded in each case after which the applications were dis ¬ cussed The license committee after due con ¬ sideration will recommend whether they deem advisable for the interest of racing either for re ¬ instatement of tlie riders under the ban or tlie con ¬ tinuance of suspension as the case deserves The committee is composed of H K Knapp Andrew Miller and F R Hitchcock Among the jockeys present were John Ixiftus Lawrence Lykes G Byrne F McGraw and W Ward
