WINGFIELD HORSES GO TO CANADA NEW YORK N Y May 4 George Wingfield proprietor of the Nevada Stock Farm at Reno Ne ¬ vada visited tlie Jockey Club Monday on business and left the same evening for Washington D C Mr Wingfield is highly elated over the prospects cf thoroughbred racing popularity in the East this year and predicts that the sport eventually will come into its own on a proportionate scale west of the Itockies ItockiesNevada Nevada Stock Farm colors will be campaigned this year on Canadian tracks us they were last summer Eighteen head were shipped from Lower California to Toronto yesterday in care of trainer Walter Heath The threeyearolds Cahalan and Anna Wood and the following twoyearolds made up the string Ambush Apricot Ashland Billy Dunn Black Dear Blazing Fire Dark Ages Flota ¬ tion Fly Cast Jake Berger Photo Play Sam Frank Shady Nook Swift Cricket Tomahoi and Wolfs Cry The threeyearolds are by Honey wood by Polymelus and the youngsters either the produce of that sire or of Atheling II by Des ¬ mond both of which are standing on Mr Wing fields farm Most of them were raced at Tijuana and ten of the sixteen graduated from maiden ranks Six of the fortunate ones are by Atheling II which seems to be due Tor stud success as this is his first crop cropMr Mr Wingfield lias twentyeight yearlings on his farm sixteen being colts and twelve fillies Most of them are by Honeywood and Atheling II al ¬ though Wrack Sweep and Ballot are represented by one offspring each Mr Wingfield has dis ¬ posed of three yearlings the progeny of Dick Welles Honeywood and Atheling II respectively respectivelyFoals Foals at Nevada Stock Farm about twentyfive in number arrived early except three which ar ¬ rived late in April
