HAVRE STAKES PATRONIZED Crusader and Other Stars Named for Feature Races of the Forthcoming Meeting. BALTIMORE. Md., April 4— Racing secretary Joseph McLennan was highly elated over the general response to the stakes for the forthcoming Havre de Grace meeting. The Glen Riddle Farms Crusader has been nominated for the Harford and Philadelphia Handicaps, while the cream of eastern Preakness and Derby hopes are found among those named for the Chesapeake Stakes. The Satrap and First Star, the William DuPont, Jr. pair, W*. J. Salmons Teheran, Black Panther, Salutation and Mirzim ; Harry- Payne Whitneys Valorous and Whiskery, Al Westons Jopagan, the Seagram Stables Sir Harry, the Sagamore Stables Abul Fath, Gold Coin and Golden Volt are just some of those from among which McLennan predicts will prove the most attractive Chesapeake eligibles in the history of the Harford County fixture. The nominations for the three stakes indicate that trainer Max Hirsch will be a very busy man. because the majority of the stake hopes in his care have been named. Among them, in addition to The Satrap, he has named George W. Lofts Rip Rap for the Chesapeake, and Nicholas, the gray rogue from the Fair Stable, is found on the Harford and Philadelphia lists.
