Permane Rides Five More Winners at Tropical Park Duplicates His Feat of Thursday — Takes Feature on Swift Marine CORAL GABLES, Fla., April 7.— After winning with five of his mounts Thursday, Bobby Permane, the apprentice from Camden. N. J., duplicated that saddle feat by riding five straight winners this afternoon at Tropical Park. He started his successful riding spree in the fourth race on Key Largo, and followed up that score with victories astride Oaking, Swift Marine, in the featured Lynn Purse; Yank Bomber, and called it a day in bringing home Rest Awhile in the nightcap. Each one of his winning mounts went to the post favorite. In the Lynn Purse, Swift Marines stable-mate was the one to finish second. With delightful racing weather, there was a crowd of goodly proportions at the Bird Road track for the semi-final program of the long season, and the winning parade of favorites through the afternoon made it a happy occasion for the players. In the Lynn, Arcaro and Pexmane showed excellent teamwork to finish one, two. Arcaro stepped away with Morani, as is the habit of the son of Bold Venture and, after he had reeled off an opening quarter in :22?3, it was a bit discouraging to Ray G., who was chasing after him. The half in :46 softened up the son of Pharamond II. a bit more, and then it was that Permane began his winning move with Swift Marine. Morani had fulfilled his assignment by carrying Ray G. along and he still had enough left to take the place, though a length and a half back of his stablemate. The tired Ray G. was beaten two lengths for the place, while Leo McLaughlin, a recent winner, was never a contender. Swift Marine, with Morani, paid .60, and the fact they finished first and second made the place pay-off .10.
