Workouts for Paumonok JAMAICA. L. I., N. Y., April 7.— Severr.l candidates for tomorrows Paumonok Handicap at Jamaica breezed today. Apache showed he is ready for a good effort by breezing a half in :50 at Aqueduct, while Swimmin Hole went six furlongs in i 1:1725 without being extended. Over at! ! Belmont Park. Devil Diver was sent an easy three-eighths in :37 over the main track. He had his main work for the Paumonok at Jamaica on Tuesday when he breezed six furlongs in 1:12. At the same track. Mettlesome did a handy half in :49?5, while Flak breezed six furlongs in 1:16. On the training track, Bill Sickle went three-eighths in :36%, handily. Both Belmont strips were muddy, while Aqueduct was sloppy. The only Paumonok candidate to work at Jamaica was Eye for Eye, who did a half in :49%, handily.
