THE NEW EASTERN RULES With a few changes the proposed amendments to the Rules of Racing by the Jockey Club wore adopted at a meeting held Friday FridayThe The proposed amendments to the rules which have appeared in The Sun were with the ex ¬ ception of a few changes adopted adoptedThe The principal alteration was in the wording of the amendment which related to horses hav ¬ ing dope administered to them As the orig ¬ inal rule made it a case of being ruled off for giving to an animal a dose of whiskey or coffee a change was made excepting these stimulants stimulantsIt It was also resolved that the new rule pro ¬ hibiting races at less than five furlongs being run after July 1 should not apply to stakes now opened openedImmediately Immediately after the meeting of the mem ¬ bers the stewards went into session sessionThe The application of the Brighton Beach Asso ¬ ciation and the Queens County Jockey Club for permission to make an exchange of racing dates was discussed It was decided not to grant the application because it was considered that owing to the original dates of the associations having been accepted the plans of owners and trainers had been largely formulated
