NORTHERN CIRCUIT RACES Racing on the Northern Circuit begins June 7 with Highland Park Detroit as the scene of operations Concerning prospects a letter to DAILY RACING FORM says The Detroit Derby will be the feature of the days sport and of the fortyseven foreseen nominations the indications are that a field of eight will face Starter Brown The race will be one of inter ¬ national interest as the best of the Canadian 3yearolds will try conclusions with some of the American colts William Hendries Henries Harvey b c by Himyar Shimmy Safety will carry the bulk of the Canadian money This colt recently breezed a mile in 1 45 over the Toronto track doing it handily J E Seagram D A Boyle and N Dyment Doyen are also wealthy Canadians who will send a candidate to the pot Among the American colts eligible to start are Traverser Traverse LieberKarl Liberal Isabey Isabel Sacket Socket Opaque and Pace ¬ maker makerThe maker The opening of Highland Park will also be the formal opening of the new northern racing circuit which includes the tracks at Fort Erie Montreal and Windsor WindsorAt Windsor At a meeting of the board of directors of the association it was decided to invite all re ¬ sponsible possible bookmakers to draw in at the usual price of 100 per day June 6th the Maccabees McCabe will begin a six days convention in Detroit when between thirty and fifty thousand strangers will be in the city and this insures a tremendous crowd for the Derby and weeks racing Detroit has had a long rest from racing and the public now promises to liberally sup ¬ port the short season at that point pointSecretary pointer Secretary W O Farmer has received appli applied ¬ cations captions for stable room for twice as mauy may horses as he will be able to accommodate He has ordered 200 more stalls built at the BelAir BlAir Montreal track John J Carter will arrive in Detroit in time to take charge of the presiding chair at each point on the circuit
