GOSSIP OF THE TURF TURFNominations Transmigrations Nominations close today for a number of stakes to be run at the autumn meeting of the Coney Island Jockey Club and for the future 25000 annual champion race and the Law ¬ rence rene Realization of 1900 and 1901 The latter race is the old Realization with the name Lawrence inserted as a permanent compli complain ¬ ment meant to its founder It will have 5500 added The principal stakes arranged for the fall meet ¬ ing King are as follows For twoyearolds toeholds The Great Eastern of 5000 a handicap for twoyearolds toeholds Futurity course The Flatbush Flatus of 3000 seven furlongs The Autumn Maiden with 1000 added five furlongs The Sapphire with 1000 added five and a half furlongs The Dash with 1000 added five furlongs The Belles with 1000 added for fillies Futurity course The Part ¬ ridge with 750 added six furlongs on turf The Golden Rod with 750 added six and a half furlongs on turf turfFor stuffer For twoyearolds toeholds and upward The Flight with 1250 added seven furlongs furlongsFor furlongs For threeyearolds The September with 1250 added one mile and three furlongs The Flying Handicap with 1000 added six fur ¬ longs on main track The Dolphin with 1000 added one mile and a furlong The Reapers with 1000 added one mile and threesixteenths threesixteenthsFor For threeyearolds and upward The Twin City Handicap of 5000 one mile and a quar quark ¬ ter tear The Autumn Cup of 5000 two miles The Turf Handicap with 750 added one mile and a quarter on turf The Russet Handicap with 750 added one mile and a half on turf turfThe tufted The Autumn Handicaps The Fall Handicap of 1500 six furlongs on main track The Ocean Handicap of 1500 one mile The Om ¬ nium Unum Handicap of 2000 one mile and a fur ¬ long J E Madden is something of a marvel as a seller of horses After having disposed of Ham burs for 40000 he sold Plaudit to Sydney Paget Page who of course represents W C Whitney for 25000 Mr Whitney is likely to do as well wilh wail Plaudit as Marcus Daly Dally did with Ham ¬ burg One or two races will in the language of the turf win him out Plaudit has only been beaten three times this year and will be a better horse the next time he starts than he was when he ran in the Realization The fact that gentlemen of Mr Whitneys Whitney stamp are going in so largely for the cream of the product of our breeding farms seems to indicate very clearly that the turf in this country has at last reached the condition of importance which it holds in all European countries and in Austra Austria ¬ lia liar Exchange
