GOSSIP OF THE TURF The edict that went forth the other day pre ¬ sumably dumbly from Secretary Hopper to the effect that beginning July 15 stable rent would be charged owners keeping horses at Latonia Antonia at the rate of 1 a mouth has caused something of a commotion among the horsemen who re ¬ mained maimed at tne tine overtheriver overhear track and intended to continue there to await the resumption of racing at this point pointThe point The determination of the Latonia Antonia people was in the nature of a surprise to the horsemen and it goes without saying that some of them were pi etty Betty sore over it On the face of the returns it does look like niggardly policy for a big track like Latonia Antonia to seek a revenue by charging horsemen that have always raced at its meet ¬ ings dings stall rent during the intermission in racing hereabouts According to report Latonias Platonism income from stall rent for the next couple of months will not be very great Nearly all the owners that bad not already done so will it is said remove their horses from the track They will go to Newport Oakley Ankle LexiLgton Lexington and Louisville Cincinnati Enquirer
