Won cleverly the next three were driving and staggering Had Fred Broens Barons possessed any gameness whatever he could not have lost He was heavily played got off with the track and had no excuses Everett picked the best going and brought the colt clear to the outside in the stretch and at that point looked a sure winner but quit badly in the last sixteenth Astor ran a good race and seemed to be eoing eloping very strong at the finish Branch struck a streak of good going on the far turn and made up a lot of ground in a furlong Pitfall had evidently not recovered from his hard race of the day before He was well up and in a good position all the way but could not respond when called upon Inspector Hunt was beaten after going a furlong The mud was too deep and sticky for him It was a cheap lot and a bad race Teeta Tetra May wore two bar plates platesScratched Scratched Whirmantiline 99 John Sack 99 99Overweights Overweights Overweighs Lady Stockham Stockholm 3 pounds Julia Hazel 3 the mud After going the first three quarters he had the race cinched Rose made his run a trifle too soon but it made no difference in the result Cant Dance had more early speed than usual He seems to run more truly to form now than ever before Forte could not get out of his own way the first part of it but came with a determined rush at the end just beating Hosi Hoi at the wire for third place The latter suffered from a bad ride Passing the stand the first time Slack was swinging the gelding all over the track He let him down all of a sudden entering the back stretch and naturally he floundered
