PATTERSONS HORSES. C. T. Patterson, who developed and trained Ornament, Hamburg, Howland, Snisun and other noted performers at Montgomery Park, has again several well-bred ones, and thinks he will develop another star on the turf. Lamplighted, ch. c, 2, by Lamplighter Harebell the dam of Mclvor, cost ,70O as a weanling. In this colt Mr. Patterson thought he had the best thoroughbred he ever handled. The colt, however, took sick at Louisville and has never fully recovered, but the illness does not seem serious, and may not effect the colts performances. McMeekin, b. c, 2, by Fonso Daisy Rose, is another of the remarkable youngsters, and is now really the star of the stable, having recently worked three-eighths of a mile in impressive style in 36 seconds, with his weight up. Benita Brush, b. f, 2, by Bramble Roseville, a full sister to the famous Ben Brush, greatly resembles her illustrious brother and promises to be of stake quality. Lampwick. ch. c,2, by Lamplighter Chaplet, is also a handsome colt, in which Mr. Patterson places great dependence. First Past, b. c, 2, by Order Happy Sally II., showed a grand trial as a yearling, and still retains the fast burst of speed that he showed early last spring, when, with a boy weighing over 100 pounds, he showed an eighth in 12 seconds. This colt is small and does not grow very fast as was expected. He is a half-brother to The Winner and a full brother to Jolly Roger. Besides these Mr. Patterson has: Prince of Melbourn, ch. c, 2, by Bramble-Maid of Balgowan. Kentucky, blk. c, 2, by Kingston Meta. Phallis, b. c, 2, by Pirate of Penzance Katie H.
