Winner B c, by Emperor of Norfolk Merrimac. Start good. Won easily. Ach was mnch the best and always held his opponents safe. He was pulled up at the end. He is erratic and not to be depended upon when in against horses oF about his own speed. Sir Urian is partial to soft ground, which accounts for his position today. The Fretter may be staling from too much racing. Banewor and Doremus seem to be of little account. The other two are worse. Overweights The Fretter. 2 pounds; Banewor, 2. Winner Ch. f, by Candlemas Perhaps. Start fair. Won handily. As the race was run Hardly seemed to be the best. She was lucky and well handled. Lode Star was in a pocket for most of the route and made up a lot of ground, when clear. Tom Cromwell was cutoff on the far turn and camo very fast through the stretch. Balli3ta was unlucky and ran a better race than the chart shows. Myth looked like a winner to the stretch, then quit owing to having been made too much use of. Rainier dislikes mud. Jerry Hunt was off badly and incapably ridden. Robert Bonners race should not be considered. Overweights Ballista, 2 pounds. Corrected weights Myth, 111. Hardly, place, 6 to 5; show, 2 to 5. Prince Tyrant pulled up lame. Elidad closed a huge gap in the last quarter, after laying out of the race to the head of the stretch. Wyoming did not rnn his race. Neither did Lena, who, besides, wants a longer route. The other two are inferior racehorses. Scratched Potente, 104. Prince Tyrant, place, evens; show, 1 to 3. Elidad, show, 8 to 5.
