Ernest Wiles was much tlie best and had to be in order to win. He acted insanely at the post and in one of hie 1 spells threw Bloss over his head. The boy hung to his bridle and prevented him from running away. The judges were iu doubt as to Ernest Wiles, and before announcing the official result • * insisted upon having the horse identified. Barrier was impeded at the start and dropped far out of it, but came with a rush through the stretch and finished very strong. Maryland Reserve was green and acted like an overgn wn Newfoundland puppy at the post. Clarence T. stopped to a walk at the end. It was well that he did for Nekarnis with a rush at the eud and almost got up. When Knight saw Nekarnis coming he did not came foe his head and rode a neat finish with his hands Nekarnis race was far above his recent ner-fortnances. He is probably a sulker Pat Cleburne showed a lot of speed but Jnitatthe end Mulvih.ll ruptured a blood vessel and was eased up in the stretch. Had Hamilton sat still on Heroics instead of drawing his whip, he would probably have won. In his effort to make a finish, Hamilton did everything but fall off Vaseline came verv strong at the end. On the other hand, Maud Gnagi and Tulane quit baSly.
