Barrett, a local owner The contending bunch behind had a keen tussle. Midwood. lucky at the start, ran a fair race. Dunblane closed a lot of ground. He is game and a stayer. Neponeet is improving and will do amoDg this kind. Lignite, off badly, closed on his horses and will do to watch. Alex is nf little account. He was lucky at the start, bnt lost ground throughout and seems to be no gcod when there is anything to race with him. The Amezon got poor handling. So did Beveraee. Hewitt could do nothing to help him. Beverage never had a chance to get through. Lady Massey has woiked well enoueh to have a chance with this kind. He was racing all the wav and swerved under sharp pressure at the eighth polo But he came again gamely and forced Decanter to a sharp drivo at the end Decanter was cleverly ridden and is good. McCue killed off Ontral Trust, chasing Knight of the Garter. Trust ia good but the weight and hot pace cooked his goose. Laverock ran up to the leaders on the back-stretch and lcoked very dangerous, but died away. Goodrich sulked throughout. Watch him over a distance of ground. He seems to be in grand condition.
