NOTES OF THE TUKF, Mr. T. C. McDowell refused an offer of ,000 for his good colt Batten last week. In view of bis fine form and the prices commanded at present by good class racers the colt is worth more money than the sum refused. The application of T. M. Berry for an injunction against tbe St, Louis Fair Association aud managers of the St. Louis Jockey Club, to restrain them from enforcing an order excluding him from the turf, has baen denied by Judgo Withrow. A portion of S. S. Browns string has arrived at tbe Newport track from the Brown farm in Kentucky. Henry Bundy is handlit g the stubio, which will not likely race until Latonia opens in October. j E. Ferguson has listed twenty head of the Eingston Btud joarlings by Prince Royal and St. George to be sold at the American Borso Exchange in New York August 29. T. G. Calverts horses are at Newport, having arrived at that track several days ago. They are in charge of Tiamer Lee Paul. Mr. Paul is thinking of shipping to St. Louis shortly. F. R. and T. Hitchcocks jumper, Peconic, who broke down on Thursday, was shot. Linstock, in tbe same striug, has also broken down and will not race again this season. Jockey H. Lewis has been ongaged to rida Plucky in tbe Futurity. Pdt Dunne has sold the three-year-old colt Sic Hubert to Ed Beard,
