Won under the whip but with something in reserve. There was sharp action behind the winner. Maurice W. has been knocking at the door for a long time and his race was according to form. Crowhurst too no chances and paid strict attention to his busins i all through the stretch. Aftar making the turn and heading for home Brown Dick swerved all ovar the track. He niturallr cm 1 some interference but not enough to call for judicial action. Tully could do nothing whoever with tho gelding. Deceive, after having much baa luck, ran a good, honest race. Edith Kline and Mar-ana were both bumped and interfered with by Brown Dick. Bsnjamine ran away three miles before the race The field was dispatched without her. Winner B. f, by Pursebearer Hira Villa. Post 5 minutes. Start poor. Won under a stout pull; second cleverly; third, fourth and fifth were driving hard. Unsightly beat the barrier and had the race safe all the way. She could have beaten almost any two-year-old at the track today. Decoy got the place as easily as Unsightly won. Tommy OBrien was unfortunate at the start, but made up ground steadily throughout and ran a fine race. Clara Wooley will do better with weight off. Macie Maree had no excuses. She quit under pressure at the end. Tildy Ann had bad racing luck. Jake W eber ran a bad race. So did Zaza. He set his own pace and at no part of the journey did Cherry Leaf have a chance to beat him Cherry Leaf had no excuses. Crowhurst waited behind expecting Carnero to come back but in vain. No fanlt whatever could be found with Crow-hursts ride. The Elector about ran his race. He is not gooa enough to beat those in front of him. Winner B. f, by Fonso Tulla Blackburn. Post 3 minutes. Start good. Won hand ridden and out to the last ounce; the next threa were vory basy. Tulla Fonso was well ridden and came from behind cleverly in the stretch. Sbo was stager.n, though, and doing her best at the finish. A mile is a trifle too far for this filly. Montauus finished resolutely nndar punishment. Ed Tipton had clear sailing and showed a lot of speed. He gave it up badly, however, when the pinch came. Defender II. ran a good racs "for him. He stopped and came again in the stretch Do not count this race for Racivan. Th weight may hnvo .topped him. Still it wa a bad performance. Scratch-d 13978 Nellio Searcy, 97; 139282dynia, 97. WinDer B. c, by Esher Aunt Jennie. Off at the first break to a good start. Won cleverly at the end after an early drive; the next four were under keen pressure. Lew Kraft could not keep up in the early part of the race, but be had speed left when the others were all out. Zazel came from behind in the stretch with a terrific rush. So did Florizir. There was a lot of changing of positions in the last quarter. Satan had no oxcnsss. He hung at the end. Tildee was roughly treated by Jenkins, on Rock-light, on the far turn and was also pinned in on the rail in the stretch. Rocklight has a fine turn of speed, but is a non-stAyer. It was a falsely run race. Scratched 13978 Aloha II.. 97. Overweights-Bocklight, 11 pounds; Satan, 1; Brown Thrush, 1. Lew Kraft, place, evens; show, 1 to 2. Zazel, placa, 6 to 1; show, 21 to 1. Winner B f, by Order Ganges II. Post 6 minutes. Start good. Won in a bard drive; second, third, fourth and fifth drivingr as hard. Aureolo was a lot the bast and had to be to win. The ride he got from H. Wilson would have been a handicap to any horse. The boy was in a good position going down the back-stretch, but on the far turn foolishly tried to go through on the inside and got shut off. For an instant it eeemed all up with Aureole, but when straightsned away in the stretch she came agairr. like a flash and won a well earned race. Plantain ran a good race. Be was biting at Goose-Liver all through the stretch and interfered with him more or less. The latter seemed to be winning on the turn but hung in tbn final drive. Rosa Masso was badly ridden. Fopg waited until the race was practically over before he made a move. Croesu3 was very roughly treated on the first tarn and, in fct, the entire journey. He was compelled to run around the entire field on the stretch turn then finished very stronar.
