Fifty-three are left in the fotmer and eishty in tho latter event, which would seem to assure big fields in each event, and there should be plenty of ante-post speculation. Calveley is top weight in the Cesarewitch with 127 lbs., his original weight having been increased 10 lbs. for his victory in the Great Yorkshire Handicap, aud 1 lb. on account of the weights having been raised, Merman, with 125 lbs., having been the highest to accept. Of the eighty in the Cambridgeshire General Peace, Merman and Hawfinch are perhaps the befet of those weighted at 112 lbs. aud upward, and of those whose impost is 98 lb3. Sly Fox, Irish Ivy, Survivor, Innocence, Winsome, Charteris and Refractor aro probably the pick of the lot. Tho racing season in Australia ended July 31, and Mr. J. R.
