NOTES OF THE TURF. There is only one change in the proposition held ont by the Latonia management. There will not ba a fixed fee of S100 per day for booking, as at the spring meeting. Instead the arrangement that has been in vogue at Harlem will be adopted. The books that may be in line will jointly pay to the clnb tbe amount hung up in purses, etc., per day 51,600. They will "pro rata" that amount , the main ring putting up seven-eighths of tho amount and the "field" or dollar books the other eighth. In other words, those who may hang up their slatOB in tho ring proper will jointly pay J1.4C0 per day for the privilege. The greater the number of books in line, of course, the smaller the fee for doing business. Cincinnati Enquirer. Tbe well-known California turfman and trainer, A. J. Btemler, arrived at Hawthorne Friday, bringing his good horse Arbacos along. In the same car with Arbioes were Barney Schreibere string of twelve horses, en route to California. They passed through without stopping. Mr. Stemler desires to look over some youngsters he has here in John Huffmans charge, after which it is his intention to return to New York and pick up a fewnsefal horses for service on the San Francisco tracks. He says Maxine has completely broken down and has been Bent by Mr. Haggin to Elmendorf. where she is to be bred next spring. Word has been received that Georgo Easton, brother of William Easton, is dying in the Seamans Hospital, London. George. Easton was in charga of several yearling thoroughbreds belongiug to Sydney Paget, which were being sent to Itheir English establishment. Easton waB found in his stateroom with his sknll fractured when the ship waB one day from the London poit. The latest advices are to the effect that there is little hope of hie recovery. The French colt Forth, winner of the Grand Prix and French Derby, has this year won all his starts, six races, and his earnings for the season amount to over 35,000
