GOSSIP OP THE TURF. A long-winded and sensational article in yesterdays Cincinnati Enquirer in effest said that there would be no racing at Latonia next spring. The following dispatch from Secretary Ed Hopper seems to cover the case: "Covington, Kt , November 15. The article in the Enquirer of today in regard to the Latonia spring meeting is utterly without foundation. E. O. Hopper, Becy." The conditions of the Congy Island Futurity to ba run in 1902, which will be announced in a few days, have been changed materially. Under the new order of things the yearling declaration has been moved back to November 1 instead of July 15, as heretofore. This will give the breeders who do not sell their yearlings until late in the seaeon a chanee to escape the penalty of keeping their nominations up after the date set for declaration. The acded money has been raised from ,750 to 0,000, which, in combination with the new condition above, will likely increase materially the total value of the stake. The weight conditions have also been changed. The weights for colts will range from 130 down to 117, with usual allowance for fillies and geldings. There will be a maiden allowance of only five pounds instead of ten, as heretofore. The addition to the chute, or Futurity Course, will be finished next yaar, making the course a full six furlongs. As a consequence the conditions of the race have baen changed eo as to make the distance to be run six furlongs. Morning Telegraph. Don dOro has gone to the Nursary Stud of A.
