Prospero was all tangled up at the start and met with interference at the first turn and again at the stretch turn, where he was carried to the outside. Colonel Cluke ran a good race. Ptiidias snowed a burst of early speed. Strangest was run up 00 and bought by J. H. Smith. T. Magee and J. H. Smith each claimed Prospero. They drew lots for preference and Smiih won the horse.
