Isabindi had a shade the best of it when the barrier went up, then Merry Day, racing to the i front, was never afterwards in trouble. Isabinda quit at the end of a half mile. Maydine, off s badly, rati a corking good race. Skiliman, interfered with on the upper turn and forced to race around his field, might have made a better showing had he had better luck. Tildy Ann came fast through the stretch. Moilie Newman was prominent during the early stages but died away f at the finish. Scratched— 17S15 Hurricane, 105; 17798Winter, 104 ; 12642 Lady Kent, 89. Won in a hard drive; second all out. Thira the same. Vain ran a grand race and is both a game and speedy animal. He raced over ■ his field in the stretch like a horse of high class. Star Chamber, with nothing to complain about ran a good race and will bear watching. Dieudonne, interfered with a trifle at the head of the stretch, was lucky to bo third. Lee King is improving fast. Porter 15. showed a lot of speed and should win soon. Queen Carnival was lucky. Longflo, off i badly, was interfered with in the stretch, forced into the fence and could not get through, otherwise ahe would have been in the first three. Jobu Bright showed great improvement and was clearly the best horse today and was well ridden by Wiuktield. He came away in the stretch and won about as he pleased without much urging. Bangle ran a good race, but showed a disposition to sulk on the upper turn when Boland was riding him hard. Salvarse is a greatly improved horse and ran a fair race. Batten showed a lot of early speed, but tired badly in the stretch and was probably short. Arthur Behan was out of his class. Scratched— 17757Compensation, 108. Windward was outfooted and tiring : at the fini-.h. George B. Cox had a somewhat stormy journey. Little Billy showed more speed ] than usual, but quit iu the stretch.
