Bonnie Hallie was cleverly saved at the post, well ridden in the race and came J away on call at t lie head of the stretch. She won like a good filly. Bonitary is a big fine looking p two-year-old and seems to improve with each race. She is a slow beginner and is game and when c the distance .-t retches out will probably be a useful racing tool. Tenny Belle is not much. She b f;ot a flying start, clear sailing and had no excuses. The Bronze Demon was bumped and inter-ered with shortly after t he start. Edith Q. got away running but it was of little use to her. Wampago is a good looker but was green and did not know what was expected of her. s Scratched— 17818 Cinera, 110. = Bonnie Hallie. place, evens; show, 1 to 2. Bonitary, place, 6 to 1 ; show, 3 to 1. Start good. Won easing up; second handily; third ami fourth were very busy. Gold Fox was the best, best ridden and won impressively. He J looked a trifle high in Hesh and should improve from this race. Walkenshaw had all his speed and hung on better than usual at the end. Cariboo got into a bad mix-up on the first turn and c was sharply shut off. McCann then had to pull up and run around the entire field. This considered. Cariboo ran a good race and finished gamely under punishment. Rosa Diah should have been third. She was interfered with repeatedly in the stretch by Nobleman. The ride on the latter was a miserable one. Loudon seemed to have no control over him and allowed the colt to swerve all over the track in the stretch. Major Mansir showed a lot of speed between posts down the backst retch. i Scratched— 17773 Colonel Eades, 105: 17773 Miss Patron, 103 ; Chub, 94 ; 17803 The Jefferson, 109. He did not show speed enough j to keep up with the leaders in the first part of the race, but galloped by them in the stretch as ; though they were tied. Knight was easing him up from the sixteentli post home. Money Muss is a good filly. She raced Sig Levy into subjection in the first three furlongs and then held her own to tin* end. Possart is a big long-striding youngster that improves with racing and likes to go a route. Sig Levy is fast, but seemingly a coward. When he stopped he stopped all over. Ross eased him up at the end. Albert Enright did fairly well after he got to going. Scratched-177993Benson Caldwell, 115; 17818-Lillie Pantland, 112; 17799 Curd Gillock, 108; 17755Invictus, 115. Oil at the first break to a good start. Won cleverly. The next three were under keen pressure. Rosb obtained a running start with May Beach and the filly smothered her field for speed. She is a phenomenal sprinter and at her best now. Hermoso was tangled up to a certain extent at the start and this enabled May Beach to steal a long lead on him early. He ran his very best race, however, and had to be hard driven to beat Ben Ledi for second place. The latter is a fast trick herself and is ready to win at once. Off at the first break to a good start. Won easily. It was a terrifi drive for the place. Owensboro showed the most speed and ran away from his field. Microscope was lucky to get second place. He was in a tight place on the first turn and came near beiu» thrown. The other boys, however, pulled out for little W. Waldo and let him through otherwise Microscope would not have been in the first three. Schnell-laufer is not much. He was in a goon position all of the way, well ridden and had no excuses. Ben Chance is a plodder. So is Chancery. In fact it was a very ordinary lot. The winner was run up to 00 by "Heck" Bloom an 1 bought by him for A. C. Clark. Scratched— 17773 Leando, 103. A mile is a trifle further than La Princessa wants to go and at the end she was doing her best. Barney F. did his best bat could not quite get up. Tillie W. suffered from bad handling. Caywood got him off flying took the shortest route and made every post a winning one. Prestar improved considerabl since his last race and made a fine showing. The next time he starts he will "be hard to beat anrr especially so if the track should get heavy. Hub Prat her had poor racing luck and about ran fa the mark. Monk Waymau was used up chasing Blue Lick the first half and had nothing left t finish with. Astor was dull of speed and can do better. The same can be said of Miss Ros-Talma was a false alarm.
