Winner— B. f., by Willie L. — Una. Went to post at 2:15. Off at the first break to a good start. Won easily. The next three were doing their best. Emma R. was the best of ■ bad lot. She seemed to like the slushy going, and went to the front when she got going on the far turn. Daisy O. quit when caught and was under keen pressure all through the stretch. Under a poor ride Orlandiue ran a fairly good race. Mandamus also showed form sufficient to get out of the maiden class soon. Lydia S. ran away at top speed three quartets on her way to the post and this ruined whatever chance she had. Both Lanza and Bluerina showed speed. Off at the first break to a good start. Won in a long, hard drive of two; third and fourth also driving. Ben Magen was well ridden and lucky. Knight got away flying, saved all the ground possible and clearly outfinished Miller through the stretch. Battus was undoubtedly best. Miller rode a very bad race on him, and when he made an attempt to ride a finish he nearly fell off. Battus interfered with Ben Magen a trifle in the run home, but it was not enough to make any difference in the result. Light Ball got into a jam on the far turn and Narvaez was compelled to pull him up. After that the colt made up a lot of ground and ran a good race. Neither Icon nor Invictus liked the going. The latter labored all the way. Ben Magen, place, 3 to 1 ; show, even6. Battus, place. 2 to 5 ; show, out. Light Ball, place, evens ; show, out. Icon, place, 4 to 5 ; show, out. Winner— Ch. g, by Kallicrat.es- Paradox. Went to post at 3:15. Off at the first break to a good start. Won easily ; second and third whipped out. My tii liked the going, showed speed galore and was never fully extended. He raced Sidbow into submission in the first half and after that had things his own way. He seems to be in good form now. Prince Blazes improved as he always does when the track gets soft. He is a good mudder and is deserving of attention in any company on his kind of a track. Moroni finished stoutly. Chisel ran a fair race for about three-quarters. Sidbow is possibly faint hearted and when he stopped he stopped all over. Myth, place, out. Prince Blazes, place, 2 to 1; show, evens. Winner— Ch. g, by Bathamptou— 1 Declare. Went to post at 3 :45. At post 23 minutes. Start good. Won easing up; second and third doing their best. Kid Hampton is a mudlark of high degree and he simply ran away from his 1 field. Enos saw he had the others beaten ingoing the first quarter and took things easy all through the stretch. Ericsell had no excuses and ran a creditable race. The same can be said ! « f The Bronze Demon. Nettie B. showed some speed. Flick, in an effort to beat the barrier with 1 Socapa, was caught in the webbing and unseated. The gelding then ran away about three- • quarters of a mile and eventually jumped the fence. This, of course, ruined whatever chance he had and was the cause of such a marked change in the betting. The winner was entered to be sold for 00, but was run up to 00 by F. W. Doss. He was retained, however, by H. E. Rowell Scratched— 17818 iCinera, 107. Kid Hampton, place, evens ; show, 1 to 2. Ericsell, place, 6 to 5; show, 3 to 5. Winner— Br. g, by Tyrant -Baby. Went to post at 4:35. At post 7 minutes. Start fair. Won easily ; second driving and staggering; third and fourth were also hard at it. Tyrba ran a surprisingly good race. He was fairly well ridden too. Miller got away well, was always in a good position and came on about his business when the stretch was reached. Obsidian had no excuses. He simply is a bad horse ana Freeman got all out of him that he could. Martha Fox ran gamely. The track and distance were against Free Hand. This considered she ran her race. From a poor beginning Domsie made up ground throughout and would doubtless have been a keen contender with an equal break. Lady Britannic had no chance with the ride she got. Won in ,1 hard drive of two horses. Third and fourth also driving. Thomas Carey under a wak ride won a lucky race. He was undoubtedly the best, but as the race was run Woodtrice should have won. Carey made his run on the stretch turn and opened up quite a gap but he tired in the last furlong and Seaton seemed to lose his head. The boy, in his effort to help the gelding, gave a pooi exhibition of horsemanship. At that his fini-h was no worse than the one that Narvaez rod on Woodtrice. Narvaez seemed more tired than the horse and wobbled all over his back in the last twenty yards. La Princessa showed a lot of speed and ran her race. The first three always had the race between them although Ben Chance closed stoutly through the stretch.
