Volkmaun went right to the front and made all his own running and won without trouble. McAddie ran a very good race, but had about all he could do to beat Poyntz for second place. The Conqueror ran poorly as compared with his last time out. Mattie Bain ran a bad race. Prosper La Gai will hardly do on his showing today. Volkmann, place, 4 to 5; show, 2 to 5. Pink Coat ran a remarkably good race although Vandusen outrode Boland in every part of the race. His Excellency, better ridden, might have won. He was cut off on the upper turn and lost a couple of lengths and Boland put up a weak ride at the finish. Tragedy was outclassed and Grayless wa6 never dangerous. Pink Coat was worked out 1 1-8 miles the mile in 1 :39, the 1 1-8 in 1 :52 and it was done very handily. He is a great horse now. Scratched— 17894 Skillman, 106. Ollie Dixon was well placed throughout and strongly ridden at the finish, wearing Beana down in the last eighth. Beana is now in fine form and ran a good race. Maccabee. badly off at the start, ran a fair race but had to make up too much ground. Waterhouse showed a good deal of early speed but died away at the finish. She appeared to be hopelessly out of it at the head of the stretch, but Overton brought her up with a resistless rush at the finish, riding a magnificent race. Scarlet Lily also ran a fine race and showed much improvement. Cleora was somewhat interfered with at the head of the stretch but seemed to be winning an eighth out. Unsightly had no excuses. He came with a rush a £ £ in the last sixteenth and finished strongly. Sound Money was shut off in the stretch, but for which he would probably have finished in front. Oconee was tiring badlv at the finish. Isahinda E- _ has been given a little too much of it at this meeting and shows the effects of the wear and tear. £ O Guess Me ran well for two thirds of the route and then gave it up.
