Merry Day was lucky at the start, is a good sprinter and won with speed in reserve. Her Ladyship ran a good race and is a consistent filly. The distance was too short for Kinnikinuick who got off badly and was closing fast and might have reached Merry Day in another furlong. Margate ran a promising race. The Benedict was shut off on the turn out of the backstretch. Prestidigitator ran a good race. Sir Christopher could not get to the front and tired badly. Our Gertie ran as if short.
