Brigadier was held in restraint to the stretch where McCue cut him loose and won in an easy gallop. Moutauic showed his usual speed, but stopped badly when challenged. Vesuvian was tiring at the end and was overweighted. So was Bombshell. The latter closed resolutely in the last quarter. Nansen got off all tangled up and not in liie stride. He was well in motion when the flag fell, was splendidly ridden by Turner and showed the most speed. Latson is very fit, showed unusual speed and hung on gamely. Mitchell took Knight of the Garter all over the track. Procession ran under a pull to the stretch and stopped when Taral called on him. She stood a hard drive all through the stretch. Lady of the Valley seemed dangerous at the furlong post but tired at the end under pressure. Elizabeth M. was slow to break, showed speed but swerved badly when the paee became too hot and interfered with everything behind her, particularly with Add who was thrown out of her .stride. Olea appeared to be winning at the eighth post, but Mitchell outrode Slack when it came to finishing. Oread is very good, but was poorly handled. Buffoon closed strongly. Ben Hadad is improving. Wax Taper and Ross Clark were pulled up at the start. General Mart Gary was pocketed in the first quarter. Laureatea showed speed, but tired badly in the last quarter.
