Hermoso was best, and the going was all in his favor. Rom hustled him to the front early and made every post a winning one. Josephine B. was well handled and ran a clever race, mud seems to be her forte. Olekma showed a lot of speed, but ImiiK at the end and barely lasted long enough to win third money. It took Ed Gartland II. a tang time to get in his stride, but when he did he made up ground rapidly and closed a big gap in tin-stretch. John A. Morris seemed to have a chauce on the far turn, but quit and swerved liadlv when the pinch came. Ben Chance was beaten off all the way. So was Jake Weber. At post 4 minutes. Start fair. Won driving and out to the last ounce, second also under keen pressure. Daugerline was lucky, well ridden and barely lasted long enough t win. From the sixteenth post home the colt tired badly, compelling Burns to ride a powerful finish in order to win. Leo Newell was the best. He got away poorly, took the longest route and finished with a tremendous rush Elmer L. was green and hardly knew what was expected of hi in. Burns, on Daugerline. interfered with Elmer L. repeatedly during the journey. Ella Deruham was -harply shut off on the far turn. Guy H. is a good looking youngster, by Boundless, and showed a ttash of early speed. Babbie bolted at the head of the stretch. Alard Scheck liked the going, was well handled and ran a high class race. He is a rugged colt that improves as the season advances. Garry Hermann could not concede the weight to Alard Scheck in the going, but can beat the Schorr colt on a fast track. Garry Hermann was hard pressed all the way and ran his usual game race. Craven showed a lot of speed, but lost much ground by making a wide stretch turn. Boomerack was outclassed and beaten off. Winner- Ch. c. by Top Gallant— Addie C. II. Went to post at 4:15. At post 4 minutes. Start good. Won easily. It was a terrific drive for econd place. Sidney Lucas, under a good strong ride ran a smashing goodrace. He is a loafer ami needs to be hustled all the way. and Caywood is just the boy to ride this sort of a horse. He placed him cleverly durrug the early part of the journey and made a cjuick. sharp move at the head of the stretch. Barrack took the shortest route and hung on gamely under pressure at the end. Bullmau used poor judgment in taking Banuockbum. with top weight up. to the front and making the pace. The Schreiber horse did his best, but after being much used early tired and hung at the eud. Zoroaster seemed to labor in the going. Brulare showed her usual amount of speed, but the route was too far for her. Winner B. h. by Sayre- Stephanie, by Macduff. Went to post at 4 :45. Off at the first break to a good start. Won ridden out : second driving to the limit. Moroni showed a fine turn of speed and won all the way. He is a shifty horse on a slow dead track. Espionage ran a good, game race under a loo6e ride. Martin dropped the ill I ■ head and went to the whip after passing the half mile post. This perhaps, cost her the race, as she is a good, game filly and finished on her own courage. Lomond shot his bolt early and swerved badly in the stretch. The race was a procession all the way. Scratched-18670 Tarhill.95: 18822 Sea Knight, 103; 18879 Chappa ua. 104.
