Bummer ■was best and showed the most speed. He raced Foneda into submission in the first half and drew away without an effort when ready. Foneda ran well and held the others safe. King Carnival and Madam Gerst were responsible for the delay at the post. Both wore themselves out. Northumberland, after swinging wide in the stretch, finished strongly. R. Q. Ban ran a good race. Fantasy was cut off on the backstretch but came again at the end. Beau Ideal hung when it came to a drive and was beaten in the last stride for third place.
