He was off rather poorly and bothered in the first furlong, but went to the front, on the turn and was never afterward troubled. Denmau Thompson was doing his best. She had clear sailing all the way and was well ridden. Queen of Song was the best. She was shut out on the first turn and had to go around the field. She has recovered her spring form. She went right to the front and held her field safe all the way. Garter Ban ran a good game race, tired in the stretch, but came again. Lady Schorr quit when the pinch came. Star would have been third, but for being shut out on the far turn. Infallible was practically left at the post. Scratched— 19715 La Valliere, 104. Mauga, place, 3 to 5 ; Bhow, 1 to 5. Millet ream was all out at the end, but the best. He was given a careful ride and seemed to be in better condition than Gala Day. The latter ran impressively, but will probably do better when next out. Peat ran an excellent race. He was slow to move, but finished strongly. Survivor would not extend himself at any part of the race. Orion will win in cheaper company. Scratched— 19174 Queen Louise, 112; 194S8Specific, 106. He went to the front with a rush when called on. Precursor was doing his best at the end, and Moroni was also closing strong. The Provost showed early speed, but tired and fell out of contention.
