possesses more than ordinary quality After getting a flying start and seeming to have every ¬ thing his own way he was overhauled and badly interfered with by Johanna D The latter shied in on the far turn and came within an ace of throwing Herodiade over the fence The latter stood this sharp interference gamely and through the stretch outlasted everything that challenged him Miracle II was away poorly took the shortest route was generally poorly handled and ran a good race 1 Semolson was kicked at the post This is a big handsome colt and can be marked for early action The route was not far enough for Bert Sargent who had a rough journey After showing an extremely fast quarter Johanna D began to tire and at the end was staggering staggeringOverweights Overweights poundHerodiade He got away none too well but was fortunate in not being interfered with and in the stretch shot out of the bunch like a flash Winkfield was a trifle overconfident at the end and Coburn with Fireside almost caught him napping The latter was perhaps the best and should hav won She got away in a tangle was bumped and jostled at every turn and never really had clear sailing until in the final furlong Then on the outside she finished with a tremendous rush Zaza was lucky and ran OUH of her best races Hampshire skinned the rail on the stretch turn and was running great guns at the finish He was pocketed all through the last quarter and had ho been able to get through would have been a keen contender Mark this fellow for early action Andrattus showed speed but stopped as if short Emma C L did post but at this point Winkfield on Braw Lad took a nap and tried to draw tne finish fine Braw Lad has bad legs and when Winkfield started to ease him he prop ¬ ped a bit and before the boy could get him going again the wire was reached and Natural Gas1 noso waa in front It was a rank piece of carelessness on Winkfields part Ho was on much the best horse and should have won with ease Natural Gas the gelding in a good position all the way met with no interference and made his move at the right time Ken ¬ tucky Babe suffered from poor handling and was interfered with every time Jackson tried to get through with her which was often This condsidered the Babe ran a good race and from the head of the stretch home made up a lot of ground Hosi did his best Cobnrn drove him hard the last three
