Winner B. f, by Gold Crest Madelaine. Went to poBt at 2:30. At post 11 minutes. Start good. Won easily: second driving. Gold Braid was easily best, came away strongly in the stretch and can beat better ones. She had worked five furlongs in one minute flat. CasBvilles forward running was due to the muddy track and the same applies to Rockey. Cast Iron finished strongly, but was lame when going to the post. Batyah had no chance with a bad jockey, but finished fast. ElectresB was probably handicapped by the going. ticratched-27738 Clipper, 109; Igniter, 108; 28152 Shepherd, 103; 278382Happy, 101; 28071 Tenagra, 99; 28182 Linora, 94. " Went to poBt at 3:05. At post 7 minutes. Start good. Won easily; second driving. Bowen ran from the rear to the front in a half mile Bhowing brilliant form in the going. Barbara Frietchie finished very strongly after being pocketed around the stretch turn. Alfred Vargrave was a live one today and his race was in startling contrast to his previous effort. Himself was unable to last at the terrific pace but hung on well on account of hiB predelection for mud. Disturber, off badly, had no chance with his bad ride. Hammock was driving early to keep up. The track was too fast for him. He wants deep and slow going to show at hiB best. Maria Bolton ran a cracking good six furlongs. Maltster tired from the pace and also f avors a slowor track. OConnor rode a very confident looking race on Leonid and evidently had a great deal in reserve. Major Daingerfield evidently favored the muddy going, finished resolutely and kept coming at the end. Setauket was well up for the first half, but was palpably outclassed. Par Excellences showing was very poor and in great contrast to her last race. The mud probably accounts for her bad race. Blues led throughout under a pull and never being extended was eased almost to a walk at the finish. Monarka put up a splendid and game race, but was hopelessly outclassed by the winner. Auto-light ran a very fair race for a mile and was then oased up, OConnor seeing there was no chance to beat Monarka for second place. He is fresh and good and evidently a much improved norse. Utopian lost ground at the start, being a slow beginner and was weakly handled. He closed a big gap and finished strongly and was probably best. Locket was favored by the going and benefited by a recent let up and ran above himself. Isia ran. a bad race and quit almost to a walk in the last quarter. Fair Knight; off badly, was novar in the hunt. Louisville was lucky not to be forced to a faster pace in the first part of the race and lasted out gamely in consequence. She is evidently very partial to light weight. The slow early pace and weak finish that Shaw put up combined to defeat Terminus; A strong, huBtling jockey like Bullman conld hardly have lo3t on him. Knight of Rhodes ran well for a mile and was eased op in the last furlong and will do well over a distance. The Blow pace enabled Alsike to be up with the field for the first mile.
